Pregnancy is highly unlikely if you have been taking your pills at the same time every day and have not missed any pills. Also, since you have never had vaginal sex, pregnancy is even more unlikely. However, if sperm was spilled near the vagina, it is possible for sperm to enter the vagina. Even women who take the pill regularly can become pregnant. Wait another week and then take a pregnancy test just for peace of mind. I would be highly surprised if you are pregnant though.

im on my 6th day break for my pills, is it safe for the man to ejaculate inside me?

Comments Off on im on my 6th day break for my pills, is it safe for the man to ejaculate inside me?

If you mean your sixth placebo or sugar pill day, then yes, it is safe (as long as you didn’t miss any of your hormone pills during the previous three weeks). During the three weeks that you are taking hormone pills, hormones build up in your system to provide enough protection against pregnancy during your placebo pill week.

I had sex with my boyfriend last night. We used a condom, and he pulled out before ejaculation. The condom was still intact, and I gave him oral sex. He moved slightly and I think a drop of cum got in/around my vaginal area, but I definitely felt it just near it. I took two generic plan b pills within 24 hours of the incident, but I am also on INH medication for latent tb. What are the chances that I am pregnant?

It is important to use a reliable, effective birth control method while on INH. INH is classifed as a pregnancy category C drug by the FDA. According to the FDA,  the definition of a category C drug is  that  “animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.”  So, if at all possible, try to avoid pregnancy until your INH therapy  is completed.

It is unlikely that you would  become pregnant from a small amount of semen getting on the outside of your vulva.  Pregnancy is more likely to result when the sperm are ejaculated directly into the vagina. Taking Plan B was a good option. Keep in mind, that after taking Plan B you may experience some irregular bleeding or spotting. Your next period may be a little earlier or later than usual, and it could be lighter, heavier, or spottier than usual.  You should have a period within the next 2-3…

missed 6days at end of my pill packet had a withdrawal bleed can u get pregnant if you have sex after this?

Comments Off on missed 6days at end of my pill packet had a withdrawal bleed can u get pregnant if you have sex after this?

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.

That being said, I need a little more information, but will try to answer the basics. Birth control pill packs are usually set up to give you 21 days of hormone (active) pills, and then 7 days of placebo (inactive) pills. The placebo pills may also be referred to as “sugar” pills, and are a different color than the active pills. The pill packs are designed this way to keep you on track to take your pills correctly and daily. The placebo pills are there to keep you in the habit of taking a pill every day, and to remind you when its time to begin a new pack. During the placebo pills is when the withdrawal bleed, or period, occurs.

If you did not take the 6 placebo pills during your period, nothing would be effected. If you had bleeding early because you did not take the last 6 active pills, then you were not protected from pregnancy.

If you do not begin a new pack of pills,…

what are the chances of getting pregnant when you took the pill for only 3 days and he ejaculated inside you??

Comments Off on what are the chances of getting pregnant when you took the pill for only 3 days and he ejaculated inside you??

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. When first starting the birth control pills, it takes at least 7 days of consistent use before they are active. After only 3 days of pill use, it is unlikely that you were protected from pregnancy.

The chance of pregnancy will depend on where you were at within your menstrual cycle when you started the pills and had unprotected sex. If you were in the middle of your cycle, when ovulation normally occurs, the chance of pregnancy is high. If you started your pills during or right after your period, then the chance would be lower. The time right before  and during your period should be your least fertile time.

Continue taking your pills correctly and consistently. If your next period is more than 1 week late, return to your doctor or clinic for a pregnancy test.

I’ve had flu like symptom for about a week then I had unprotected sex. Two days after sex I woke up with a fever and backaches. I also took a Plan B the next day after intercourse. I don’t have any vaginal issues at the moment…just a little sore because of the rough sex. Could this be serious or just a standard flu?

It sounds like your probably just having a cold or virus that is causing flu-like symptoms. Plan B does not cause fever or backaches. Remember to drink plenty of fluids and try to get extra rest when you are sick. Taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen as directed will help decrease fever and relieve aches.

I had sex with my girlfriend and i came in here 2 tines. one when she was on top and the other was her on bottom. its been almost a year since me and her had sex after we broke up and she claims that me and 3 other dudes are the possible fathers. is it possible that it could be my child?

It really depends on how old the child is. If the child is two to three months old and your ex-girlfriend had an average gestation (nine months of pregnancy), then yes, the child could be yours. If she just found out she’s pregnant and it’s been almost a year since you had sex with her, then no – there’s no way you could be the father.

In essence, if you had sex with her around the time of her possible conception, then yes, it is possible that you may be the father. It only takes one sperm in one single ejaculation to fertilize an egg. Some girls become pregnant the very first time they have sex. The only way to know for sure is to take a paternity test.

I’ve been on the pill for 8 months and i missed taking them for two days while i was having unprotected sex. is there a possibility of me being pregnant?

9. February 2012

Comments Off on I’ve been on the pill for 8 months and i missed taking them for two days while i was having unprotected sex. is there a possibility of me being pregnant?

Yes, pregnancy is possible. When you miss two consecutive pills or more, your hormone level drops, and ovulation is possible. Your body will only suppress ovulation as long as it sees the steady level of hormones that you are receiving from the pill. When that level changes, an egg  may be released.

We would advise that you take Plan B within 120 hours of the unprotected sex. The sooner you use it, the more effective it is. Continue to take your birth control pills. Take two a day until you are caught up and then resume the one pill daily schedule.

Missed pills usually cause spotting or breakthrough bleeding so don’t be surprised if that should happen. If you miss your next period, take a pregnancy test. Repeat the test every two weeks until you have a normal period or you test positive for pregnancy. Do not stop taking your pills unless you have a positive test result.

Me and my boyfriend had sex last saturday and he came inside me. I had my regular period for this month today. since he came inside of me, even though i had my regular period for that month, could i still get pregnant?

Pregnancy is highly unlikely if you had a normal period after the unprotected sex. However, if you do not wish to be pregnant, please use a reliable method of birth control for any future sex acts. If you continue to have sex but do not use any method of birth control, you have an 85% chance of becoming pregnant by the end of the year.

If you live near one of our offices, please call us for an appointment. We can talk with you about all of your contraceptive options and help you choose one that’s best for you. If you live further away, contact the Family Planning or Planned Parenthood office closest to you. From now until you start another method, please either abstain from sex or use a condom for each act of sexual intercourse.

I have been on birth control since July of 2011. My boyfriend and I had sex without using a condom but he pulled out. I always take my pills between 8 and 11 at night and I cannot remember the last time I missed a day. I was supposed to get my period 2 days ago and it still has not come so I took a Plan B pill. Could I be pregnant?

There was no need to take a Plan B pill. Plan B should only be used if your method fails or you have unprotected sex, not to bring on a period.

Please don’t panic. Sometimes, when you’ve been on the pill for a while, you can miss a period every now and then. All it means is that no blood built up inside the uterus. When there is no blood, you skip a period.

Of course, pregnancy is always a possibility if you have sex (even when you use your method perfectly), but since you have been so careful about taking your pill on time, I would be very surprised if you would be pregnant. Wait until you start your next pill pack. If you still have had no bleeding at all, take a pregnancy test just for peace of mind. Do not stop taking your pills unless you test positive for pregnancy.
