So friday night I got caught up in a moment.. And ended up giving a hand job.. I was on my period and had a tampon in but he touched himself and started touching me (he only pre ejaculated a tiny bit) around and slightly in that area. I still bled saturday and it today’s my 5th day on my period and should be ending soon… I’ve been on birth control for exactly a month and haven’t missed a pill.. I know it was dumb and I’m continuing to learn for my mistakes. I’ve cried a lot and I don’t think I can be.. But I need a second opinion.. A women with experience. Please.. I’m driving myself nuts..

If you have been taking your birth control pills correctly and consistently, then it is unlikely that you would become pregnant from intercourse without a condom. Review here. You take the pill consistently, you’re protected, and your protection is effective through your period week. Next, you didn’t have intercourse. The amount of live sperm left on his fingers were not deposited inside your vagina. Plus, you had a tampon in, and the tampon could act as a barrier method, preventing sperm from entering the vagina (see below).  Stop driving yourself crazy. Start a new pack of pills as scheduled and continue taking them daily. Forgive yourself and move on.

***Note to everyone: DO NOT use tampons as a barrier form of birth control. They are not intended for this. Doing so could result in pregnancy and/or infection.****

I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe birth control for a week. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex 3 times within an hour and pulled out every time. What are the chances i could be pregnant and will taking 3 extra pills work as an emergency contraceptive?

Comments Off on I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe birth control for a week. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex 3 times within an hour and pulled out every time. What are the chances i could be pregnant and will taking 3 extra pills work as an emergency contraceptive?

It takes at least 7 days of consecutive use before the birth control pills are effective. So, if you took 7 days worth of pills correctly, then you probably had effective birth control. Using a second method, like condoms or withdrawal, further helps to prevent pregnancy. However, only abstinence, is 100% effective.

Emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs), like Plan B, help prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. It is a dose of 1.5 mg of the progesterone, levonorgestrel. The hormones estrogen and progesterone help regulate your menstrual cycle. Regular birth control pills contain both estrogen and progesterone, only in much smaller amounts. Depending on brand packaging, this dose can be taken as two 750 microgram pills, both taken at the same time OR twelve hours apart. Plan B-One Step is one 1.5mg pill–one pill taken one time.  Therefore, three extra “regular” birth control pills would not be effective as emergency contraception.

WAY back in history, like the 1970’s, a doctor named Yuzpe “invented” emergency contraception. His method consisted of a woman taking many active pills, all at one time. Twelve hours later, she would take the same dose…

Implanon is a single rod, implantable contraceptive that has recently (within the past 2 years) been FDA approved for use. It is a  progesterone-only method, so it is generally safe for use by all women. It is especially beneficial for those women who need birth control, but who are unable to use estrogen containing methods.

According to the research, Implanon is 99% effective and is good for 3 years. It is effective almost immediately after insertion, so there is practically no waiting time. It is inserted by the doctor during an office visit. At the end of 3 years, the clinician removes the rod. As per the literature, fertility usually returns to normal within several months. If continued protection is required, another rod can be implanted.

Some medications can decrease the effectiveness of this method. Medications that are broken down in the liver or that affect liver enzymes may decrease the effectiveness of Implanon. Discuss any medications you take with your doctor.

Ok, now to your question. If you have had the Implanon inserted, and your partner ejaculates inside of you, it is…

Me and My boyfriend had sex 2 days ago. And he came inside me. I have never been on birth control and he didnt use a condom when can i find out if i am prengnant or not and what are the chances of it?

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. However, the risk can increase or decrease, depending on where you’re at in your menstrual cycle.

A menstrual cycle is calculated from the first day (beginning day) of one period to the first day of the next period. A normal cycle can be anywhere from 21 to 32 days. This means that there can be as little as 21 days or as many as 32 days between periods, and still be within the normal range.

If you have a normal 28 day menstrual cycle, ovulation usually occurs (on average) around days 12-15. This would be the most fertile time of your cycle and when the risk of pregnancy would be greatest. The days just prior to and the days of your period are usually your least fertile time and when pregnancy would be less likely. If your cycles are shorter, longer or irregular, then your ovulation time would be likewise: sooner, later or variable. The more frequently you have unprotected sex, the more likely you are to become pregnant.

If…

I have been taking birth control for almost 2 years now. Me and my boyfriend had sex 2 nights ago and he came inside the condom. Today, I used the bathroom and noticed part of a condom in the toilet. I’m confused on why it would just now be coming out. Could I be pregnant?

If you have been taking your birth control pills correctly and consistently, it is unlikely that you would become pregnant.

You don’t mention if it was an entire condom or just a piece of the condom in the toilet. If the condom tore during sex, that piece could have been situated deep inside the vagina. Just as semen and vaginal fluids from sex take time to “drain” out of the vagina, so would a “foreign object”. Additionally, the repeated downward pressure from urination or bowel movements would help to push it out of the vagina. This would also be true for a piece or the whole condom. It would eventually come out, if not now, most likely during your next menstrual flow. If a condom is left in the vagina, infection could result. In this case, you would experience vaginal symptoms like unusual vaginal discharge, foul odor, and discomfort.

When used together, birth control pills and condoms are very effective at preventing pregnancy. One also serves as a “back-up” for the other. In the future, when using condoms, have your partner check…

What you read is correct. While it is important to take all your pills correctly & consistently, the first 7 days of the pill pack are the most important. This is true for EVERY pill pack, EVERY month.

Pill packs are designed so that you take 21 consecutive days of hormone (active) pills, followed by 7 consecutive days of hormone free (inactive) pills. Most pills follow a 21/7 day design, but some newer brands follow a 24/4 design. During the inactive pills, you are having a withdrawal bleed (your body bleeds because it is withdrawing from having daily hormones) or “period”. This should be the least fertile time in your cycle. If pills have been taken correctly, protection is usually continues to be effective during this week. However, if the estrogen and progestin are not replaced back into the body within those days directly after a period, normal ovarian function takes over. Ripening of an ovarian follicle may take place, and ovulation may occur. If you miss or are late with any of the pills during the first active week,…

im on the 2month injection and had unprotected sex with my partner and he ejaculated in me.i took a laxative and a pregnancy test which was neggative i later took a laxative could is there a chance i that im pregnant?

Here in the United States, the only injectable contraceptive is the DepoProvera injection. It is injected into the body either intramuscularly or subcutaneously. The DepoProvera is effective within 24 hours after the first injection. The medication is lasts for up to 13 weeks. When the injections are received on time, the effectiveness rate of the DepoProvera is 99.9% . If a woman misses an injection or is persistently late for her injections, her birth control protection will be compromised.

If it was at least 24 hours after your first shot, or if you have been receiving your injections on time, your risk of pregency would be extremely low.

If you have been consistently late for your shots or if you are currently past due for your shot, your birth control may be questionable. If you were to become pregnant from this incident, you would not have a positive urine pregnancy test for at least 3-4 weeks. Taking laxatives after unprotected intercourse has no effect on whether or not you become pregnant. Laxatives do not prevent sperm from reaching the uterus. Sperm…

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.

However, the relative risk of pregnancy will depend on where you were at during your menstrual cycle when the unprotected sex occurred. If unprotected sex occurred mid-cycle, which is usually a woman’s most fertile time, then there would be a high risk of pregnancy. If it occurred just prior to or during your period, then there is a lower risk of pregnancy. The few days prior to and the days during of a period are usually a woman’s least fertile time.

If your next period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test. In the meantime, don’t have unprotected sex. When used correctly & consistently, condoms can be effective at preventing pregnancy. Family Planning Plus clinics offer exams and birth control at little to no cost, depending on household size & income.

If you have been having unprotected intercourse regularly, then there is the chance that you became pregnant earlier in the month. If your period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test.
