If you had unprotected sex, Plan B would be a good option. Plan B helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. It is most effective when taken within 24 to 72 hours after unprotected sex. Studies do show that Plan B can be effective when taken as long as 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex. After taking Plan B, you should have a period within 2-3 weeks. But, in the meantime, do not have any further unprotected intercourse.
Whether or not you can begin the patch right away will depend on your practitioner. Some clinicians prefer that you wait until after your period to start birth control. Others will advise you to begin it that day. Discuss Plan B and a patch start date with your doctor.

Comments Off on I had sex with my girlfriend yesturday. Wore a condom and everything but when I finished after supposedly cumming in the condom I realized the condom had broke. I was pretty freaked out but my girlfriend was trying to calm me down and mentioned she hadn’t been on her period for a long time. Can this mean she can’t get pregnant?
You don’t mention whether or not your partner is on a long term birth control method (pills, shot, ring, etc.). Women on the DepoProvera injection usually do not have periods. If she does not have periods because she has a irregular cycle, then her ovulation times will be irregular also.
Anytime you have unprotected sex or a condom failure, there is the risk of pregnancy. If this occurred recently, Plan B is an option. Plan B helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. It is available for purchase over the counter to women age 17 and older. Women under 17 require a prescription. It costs about $46.

Comments Off on my doctors appointment is tommorrow and im worried about having an std cause i do have some symptoms and my last sexual intercourse was 5 days ago should i be worried?
Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy and becoming infected with a sexually transmitted infection.
Discuss your symptoms with your clinician at your appointment. If your doctor does not do routine STD testing, request that he/she do this. A vaginal exam can reveal any yeast or bacterial vaginosis. If you have an infection, the doctor can prescribe medication to treat it.

Comments Off on i had unprotected sex and took plan b. I then got my period six days later. Does that mean im in the clear??? four weeks after the sexual act i took 10 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative.
If you got your period, then you did not become pregnant from that act of unprotected intercourse. Anytime you have unprotected sex, there is the risk of pregnancy. You may want to consider beginning a long term birth control method like the pills, patch, vaginal ring or Depo injection. Condoms, when used correctly for every sex act, can be very effective at preventing pregnancy.

Comments Off on I have been on oral contraceptives for years. I was taking the first week of the active pills of a new cycle when I was diagnosed with a kidney infection. I had to take a 3 week course of cephazolin, trimethoprim and amoxicillin. I finished this course at the end of the 3rd week of active pills. I took the 4th week of active pills at the correct time and I didn’t have sex. I started my first sugar pill on Saturday and I had unprotected sex on Sunday (lasted for 30 seconds, my bf didn’t cum). I was worried so I took the morning after pill an hour after sex. I was supposed to get my period on the 4th sugar pill, I’m on the 5th sugar pill and still no period!! I’m worried that I may be pregnant! Please help!
Antibiotics may decrease the effectiveness of your birth control pills, so you were right in abstaining from sexual activity during that time. Because we don’t know exactly how much antibiotics interfere with pills, you may not have had adequate protection throughout your period (inactive pill) week. Taking Plan B was a good choice.
Plan B helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation (if it would have occurred) . Because of this, your period may be a little later than ususal. You may experience some irregular spotting or bleeding throughout this next month of pills. Keep in mind that things like stress, illness, medications, and lack of sleep can alter your cycle. Periods could come earlier, later, or sometimes, not at all.
Begin a new pill pack as scheduled. If your period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test.

If you are having persistent abdominal discomfort, it would be wise to have a check up by your doctor. Abdominal discomfort can be caused by intestinal problems. Pelvic discomfort and abnormal vaginal discharge may be caused by a vaginal infection. You may want to consider having a vaginal infection check and an STD screening done.

Comments Off on I missed taking my contraceptive pill on saturday (which is an extremely rare occurrence), i continued to take it sunday and monday and on monday night i had unprotected sex. he didnt ejaculate and i took the pill on tuesday like normal and carried on with normal use. should i get the emergency contraceptive pill?
If you having been taking your pills correctly and consistently for the majority of the time, missing one pill probably won’t decrease your effectiveness significantly. Although its important to take all of your pills, the first 7 days of each new pill pack are the most important.
If your partner did not ejaculate inside of you, you do not need Plan B. Continue to take your pills regularly, making up missed pills, if needed.

Comments Off on My boyfriend and I had sex and he wore a condom when he ejaculated. He took it off and I gave him oral sex; then we had sex again without a condom. I am ovulating right now:$ could I be pregnant??
Yes, anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the chance of pregnancy. If you have unprotected sex around your ovulation time, the chance of pregnancy is greater.
If your not planning a pregnancy, Plan B is an option.

Comments Off on Ive gotten my wisdom teeth pulled out about four days ago is it ok to give oral sex to my boyfriend or I should wait ?
It would probably be best to refrain from oral sex until your wisdom tooth sockets are completely healed. Exposing your gums to semen may cause an infection.
