After 3 weeks (21 days), it is unknown how effective the Nuvaring would continue to be. If you haven’t already, remove your vaginal ring. Your period may be later than usual. However, as an extra precaution against pregnancy, you may want to consider taking the emergency contraceptive, Plan B. Plan B helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. It is available for purchase over the counter at most pharmacies for women 17 and older. Women under 17 require a prescription.
After 7 days of no ring, insert a new one as you normally would. Insert a new vaginal ring even if you have not gotten a period. Write or set yourself a reminder: 3 weeks in, 1 week out.

Comments Off on If I’m on the Pill, is it okay to let my boyfriend come inside me? I thought it was; I understand there’s a 1% chance I could get pregnant regardless of how perfectly I use the Pill, but I’ve recently heard that allowing your boyfriend to come inside you even while on the Pill is almost a guaranteed pregnancy. Is this true?
If you are taking your birth control pills correctly & consistently, it is unlikely that you would become pregnant, even if your partner ejaculates inside you.
Theoretically, the birth control pill is 99% effective. Real life effectiveness rate is around 95%. Real life rate is lower because some women either do not take their pills or do not take them correctly. Most “good” pill users (taking your pill every day) can achieve an effectiveness rate of 98-99%. Frequently missing pills or taking them late will decrease the effectiveness. Some antibiotics will also decrease your birth control. Therefore, the more diligent you are with every day pill use, the better your protection will be.
At Family Planning Plus, we do recommend using condoms as a back up method for the pill in a few instances. If you frequently miss your pills, then using condoms regularly is probably a good habit to get into. If you have missed more than 2 pills in a row, abstinence or a condom should be used for the rest of the pill pack. During antibiotic therapy, abstainence/condom should be used during the time you’re on the antibiotics…

Comments Off on is it safe to continue to have sex after you have already cummed in the condom?
If you have ejaculated in the condom, it is probably safer to pull out of the vagina. After the penis becomes soft, the condom does not fit as well. With continued thrusting, there is the risk of condom tearing, that semen could leak out, or the condom coming off. You should use a new condom for each new act of intercourse.

Comments Off on I had unprotected sex about eight times BEFOREI took the depo could I very well be pregnant due to the fact that it was prior to the the depo shot? He did cum inside me.
Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.
Prior to beginning the DepoProvera injection, most clinicians will try to detect whether or not you are pregnant. Some providers give the first injection only when the woman is currently having her period, or is within 5 days after her period. If the women is not having her period, others may give the first injection as long as there is a negative pregnancy test, and there has been no unprotected sex within the past two weeks. Still, others may give the injection anytime within the menstrual cycle as long as there is a negative pregnancy test. Each way is acceptable and will depend on your doctor or clinic.
If you feel that you are pregnant, do a home pregnancy test, or ask the clinic to run a test prior to your next scheduled injection. There is no evidence that the Depo injection causes termination of pregnancy or that it harms a fetus.

Comments Off on I and my boyfriend had unprotected sex the day i started seeing my period. I took plan B 24hrs later but then i did not see my period the second day. Could i be pregnant?
Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. If your unprotected sex did occur on the first day of your period, then it is unlikely you’d become pregnant. However, if you only had spotting that day, it may not have been the beginning of a period.
If you have been having unprotected sex regularly, you could have become pregnant at an earlier date. Plan B will not cause a termination nor will it harm an existing pregnancy.
After taking Plan B, you should have a period within 2-3 weeks. If you do not have one within that time, do a pregnancy test. In the meantime, do not have any further unprotected intercourse. When used correctly & consistently, condoms are effective at preventing pregnancy. You may want to consider starting a long term method of birth control like the birth control pills, patch, vaginal ring or the DepoProvera injection.
Family Planning Plus clinics offer gynecological exams and birth control at little to no cost, depending on your household size & income.

Comments Off on i didnt take my birthcontol for a week because i couldnt get a refill and i got put on antibiotics this last week and a half and my period is a week late i havent had sex sense my last period. is it a result of missing my bp for a week?
It could be. Not taking your pills for a week will certainly disrupt your normal cycle. Other things, like stress, illness, medications, and lack of sleep will also alter your cycle. Your period may come earlier or later than usual. Keep in mind, your birth control was not effective during the time that you didn’t take the pills. If you recently resumed them, they may not be as effective while you’re taking the antibiotics. To be on the safe side, continue to abstain from intercourse until your next period, or use condoms.

Comments Off on i was on the depo shot for a year and last month i missed my shot ijust ended my period 2 days ago and yesterday me and my bf had sex what are my chances of being pregnant?
Since your period just ended, you may not have ovulated yet this cycle. If that is the case, the risk of pregnancy is low. However, your cycles will probably be irregular for a while because of your recent Depo use. Therefore, it’s really difficult to say. To reduce your risk of pregnancy, use the morning after pill as soon as possible. Plan B is available over-the-counter at most drug stores if you are 17 or older. You do have to ask the pharmacist for it since it is located behind the counter and you may have to show ID to prove your age. The cost is about $50. You can also get the morning after pill at most Family Planning and Planned Parenthood offices for little or no money.
If you do not have any bleeding for five consecutive weeks, take a pregnancy test. Repeat the test every two weeks until you either have a normal period or a positive test result.
If you plan to continue to have sexual intercourse, please contact the provider who prescribed your Depo and either restart that method or…

Comments Off on Me and my boyfriend had unprotecteted sex a week ago then again 3 days ago. I thought I was pregnant due to the fact that I was feeling really sick and throwing up. However, I started my period this morning. Does this mean I’m not pregnant?
Yes. If you are having a menstrual cycle, you are not pregnant.
Infrequently, some women may have implantation bleeding and mistake this as a period. Implantation bleeding is lighter and spottier than a normal period.
If you are not planning a pregnancy, consider using a long term method of birth control like birth control pills, patch, vaginal ring or DepoProvera injection. Condoms, when used correctly, are effective at preventing pregnancy.

Comments Off on i had sex with my girlfriend about 40 days ago. we were inexperianced so i was really only able to go in twice for upwards of 90 seconds. i was wearing a condom and she take birth control. the problem is, she doesn’t take her pill on time ( about 3 hours max after time she is supposed to take) and missed one day. i’m not sure if my condom broke or not as well. i strongly doubt i ejacluated into her but i might have left alittle residue if it broke. my girl friend doesn’t think it broke either. do you think it is possible she could be pregant? what are the chances she is?
Anytime you have unprotected intercourse or method failure, there is the risk of pregnancy.
In the future, if there is doubt about the effectiveness of your birth control method, Plan B is a good option. Plan B is an emergency contraceptive. When taken within 24 to 72 hours after unprotected sex, it can help prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. Plan B can be purchased over the counter at most pharmacies for around $46. Plan B does not cause a termination nor does it harm an already existing pregnancy.
Encourage your partner to take her pills correctly & consistently. Taking pills around the same time every day (within an hour or two of the same time) helps maintain a therapeutic level of birth control. If she misses a pill, she should take the forgotten pill as soon as possible. If she misses 2 or more pills from the same pill pack, you need to either abstain from sex or use condoms for the rest of the cycle.
At this point, it is too late for your partner to take Plan B. She…
