If you have been taking your Seasonale correctly & consistently, it is unlikely you would become pregnant. Birth control protection is effective throughout your placebo pills which is when you should be having  your period.

Vaginal discharge is normal. The color and amount can vary. Fluctuations in hormones can cause the amount to be more or less. Some medications can decrease the amount of vaginal secretions. Clear to white vaginal discharge is normal. It may dry yellow on your panties or pad.

Give yourself a week or two to see if you may be suffering from a stomach virus. Stomach viruses may  cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and tiredness. Rest, ice chips and popsicles can help ease symptoms and prevent dehydration.

If you are still concerned about pregnancy, do a pregnancy test.

Anytime a man and women have sex, there is the risk of pregnancy. Abstinence is the only 100% effective method of preventing pregnancy. Even if used correctly & consistently, condoms do fail. If you period is more than 1 week late, perform a pregnancy test.

i’ve been on depo provera for about 9 months now. i had sex last night. we used protection, but it broke. what is my chance of being pregnant?

Comments Off on i’ve been on depo provera for about 9 months now. i had sex last night. we used protection, but it broke. what is my chance of being pregnant?

The DepoProvera injection is 99.9% effective. The protection begins 24 hours after your first injection. Each injection is effective for 13 weeks. If you have continued to receive your injections on time, as scheduled, then the risk of pregnancy is .1%.  Even though the condom broke, you were still well protected from pregnancy.

Frequently missing or being late for your injections will decrease the effectiveness.

DepoProvera does not protect you from sexually transmitted infections. Condom mishaps may lead to exposure to some infections. If there is concern about this, consider having an STD screening done.

If i had sex while on the sugar pills and didnt take them and he ejaculated inside me what are the chances of me being pregnant?

If you are taking your active, or hormone, pills correctly & consistently, then it is  very unlikely you would become pregnant during your period. Your birth control protection is effective throughout your period, during your “sugar” pill week. The inactive (sugar) pills do not contain any hormones. Most pill packs include these inactive pills to keep you in the habit of taking a pill every day, as well as to remind you when to begin a new pill pack.  Some women do not take these pills. If you don’t think you would remember to start a new pack on time or would get out of the daily pill routine, it is best to continue taking the inactive pills.

My boyfriend and i were trying anal and he started to pull out and then cam should i be worried that i maybe pregnant?

If ejaculation occurred in the rectum/anus and not in the vagina, then there is no chance of pregnancy. The rectum and vagina are two separate (for lack of a better word) “tubes”. The intestinal tract begins with the mouth, down the esophagus, and into the stomach.  From the stomach, broken down food travels through the small and large intestines, into the rectum, and out of the anus. The vagina is like a sock. At one end is the opening (to the outside of the body), and the “toe” end is connected to the cervix. The cervix serves as the opening to the uterus. The cervix is the structure that has to dialate, or open up to allow a baby to be born. If semen is ejaculated in the rectum, it stays in the rectum. It cannot travel into the vagina.

It is unlikely you would become pregnant from this incident.  First, your partner did not ejaculate inside of you. Second, the last days of your period should still be within your (relatively) infertile time. Third, you took Plan B within 24 hours.

Plan B helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. After taking Plan B, you may experience some irregular bleeding or spotting. Your next period may be earlier or later than normal. It may be lighter, heavier or spottier than usual.  Wait until your period is more than 1 week late. If it still hasn’t come, then repeat the pregnancy test.

Plan B helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. When taken within 72 of unprotected intercourse, it is approximately 85% effective at preventing pregnancy.

After taking Plan B, you may experience some irregular spotting or bleeding during this next cycle. Your period may be earlier or later than usual. It may be lighter, heavier or spottier than usual. If your period is more than 1 week late, perform a pregnancy test.

my boyfriend and i don’t have any stds because were always getting tested and we dont have sex with others just eachother. so would it be bad to have unprotected sex, but im on birth control anyways.

Discontinuing condom use is something that only you and your partner can decide.  If you are using your birth control correctly and consistently, then your risk of pregnancy is low. If you and your partner have been recently tested for sexually transmitted infections, then the risk of being infected is very low. This is assuming that you and your partner are only having sexual relations with each other. Viruses like HPV (Human Papillomavirus) and genital herpes (Herpes Simplex Virus type 2) may be present but have no symptoms. HPV is the sexually transmitted virus that can cause genital warts and some cervical cancers. Unfortunately, there is no test for HPV. Due to its cost, herpes testing is not routinely performed. It is also helpful to have an honest discussion about your sexual histories. So, is it “bad” to have unprotected sex with your partner, especially if testing is negative? Medically, probably not.  Keep in mind, having trust in your partner is as important as the medical testing.

I am on birth control, but I often forget to take it. Sometimes I miss it for two or three days and realize I haven’t taken it. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex two weeks ago, and he ejaculated inside me. We also had unprotected sex again about a week ago, and he ejaculated inside me again. How long after can you tell if you’re pregnant? Is there a high possibility that I could be pregnant?

Yes, there is a high chance that you could be pregnant. The more frequently you have unprotected sex, the more likely it is that you will become pregnant. Since you do not take your pills consistently, you cannot rely on them as birth control. When you frequently miss pills, your cycle becomes irregular. When you body does not have consistent levels of hormones, there is a good chance of ovulation.

If your next period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test. If you are not pregnant, you may want to consider another birth control method, like the DepoProvera injection, that does not require you to remember it daily.
