Comments Off on I’m 22 and I had intercourse with a guy about a week ago and everything was fine, we have since had sex 6 or so times. For the last 2-3 days the external parts of vagina and clitoris have just been irritated and itchy-like. It is just uncomfortable especially when using toilet paper and the last time i had sex. I have no unusual discharge, odor, or burning while urinating either. I am in school away from home, so i was hoping that you could let me know what was wrong, if anything, so that I dont have to go to the OBGYN. Thank you
Vaginal yeast infections are characterized by a white, thick, cottage-cheese like vaginal discharge that has no unusual odor. Commonly, there is intense itching and irritation around and/or inside the vagina. You may want to consider trying an over the counter yeast cream (Monistat 7, Clotrimazole). Use as directed by the package insert, but most creams recommend 1 applicatorful inside the vagina before bed every night for 7 nights. You may also apply a small amount of the cream to the affected areas on your labia.
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a vaginal infection that can cause thin, white, milky discharge that has a “fishy” odor, especially after intercourse. BV may cause external irritation and burning with urination. Yeast medications do not treat BV. Because BV is caused by a bacteria, it requires an antibiotic for treatment.
If you decide to try the over the counter yeast medication and it does not resolve your discomfort, or if your discomfort worsens, see your gynecologist for an infection check.

Comments Off on i had sex with my girlfriend but i got a blowjob before i did. and i came in her mouth.. then we did it again but i pulled out.. then we did it again but i didnt pull out this was the 6th time we had sex during that day. is she pregnant?
Pregnancy is definitely a possibility in the scenario you described. The only way to know for sure is for your girlfriend to take a pregnancy test if she is more than a week late for her next period.
The likelihood of pregnancy is dependent on a number of different factors. Generally, if the sex occurred around the time of her ovulation (about two weeks prior to her next period if she has regular 28 day cycles), pregnancy is more likely. If it occurred just before, during, or just after her period, pregnancy is less likely. If you are worried about your girlfriend becoming pregnant, suggest that she use Plan B (the morning after pill).
Plan B One-Step is a hormone pill that prevents pregnancy after unprotected sex by delaying ovulation (the monthly release of an egg). It can be used up to 120 hours (five days) after unprotected sex, but works best if it is used within 24 hours of sex. The sooner it is used, the better.
If you are 17 or older, you can purchase Plan B for her at most drug stores without a prescription. You…

Comments Off on I’m been on doxycycline (an antibiotic) for about a week and a half and I just got my period 4 days early while on the pill (Lutera). Should I switch to placebo pills now? or should I keep taking the 4 last active pills and then switch to placebo? I was planning on skipping my period this month by directly skipping the placebo pills and starting a fresh pack, should I still do this?
Continue taking the active pills in your current pill pack. You may still skip the placebo pills and start a new pack of active pills. If you have been ill and are taking Doxycycline, it would not be abnormal for your period to begin a little earlier than usual. If you do skip your placebos and begin a new pack, you may experience some irregular spotting or bleeding during the first week or two. Your body should return to normal within a month or two.

Comments Off on The day after her period ended, my girlfriend gave me oral sex and I ejaculated and wiped it off on a towel. However, we had unprotected sex a couple minutes after. I did not cum again or anything and was wondering if we should be worried about pregnancy?
Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.
The chance of pregnancy does differ depending on a few factors. If your partner had just ended her period, she should still be in the less fertile time of her cycle. Ejaculating during oral sex and not inside your partner also decreases the risk of pregnancy.

Comments Off on Its my first time using birth control right now am taking depo shot for 2 months to help my period regulate. But then i had sex with my boyfriend but i was on period still .Is there a chance that am pregant? But am still spoting blood thou. The doctor said thats a side effect of the shot.but amstill worried that i could of got pregant.
Depo-Provera is an injectible hormonal method that is given every 10-13 weeks. Each shot lasts approximately three months. Depo becomes effective 24 hours after your first injection and remains effective as long as you are getting your shots on time (no more than 13 weeks apart).
As long as the sex occurred more than 24 hours after you had your shot, your risk of pregnancy is extremely low. Depo is over 99% effective.
Your doctor is correct. Irregular bleeding is the most common side effect of Depo-Provera. After six months to one year of use, some women stop getting their periods altogether while others experience menstrual bleeding every three months.
If you are still worried about pregnancy, purchase a home pregnancy test. Be sure to follow the directions precisely. For best results, use first morning urine and do not drink anything prior to your test.

A bilateral tubal ligation is a surgery that provides women with a permanent method of birth control. It is sometimes referred to as “tying my tubes”, “burning tubes”, or “clamping tubes”. During the surgery, the doctor will usually remove a small portion of each fallopian tube, and “burn” each end. The resulting scar tissue causes blockage of the fallopian tubes.
Tubal ligation is more than 99% effective. It is considered permanent. Although it has occurred, it is rare that the tubes would grow back together.
Some gynecologists and fertility specialists are able to do surgery to reverse a woman’s tubal ligation. The success rate of the reversal depends on the length of time since the tubal, length of the remaining portion of tube, your age, weight gain and other factors. A successful reversal does not guarantee that pregnancy or a live birth will occur.
If you & your partner have further questions, make an appointment with a doctor that specializes in fertility.

Comments Off on My boyfriend and I had sex on the weekend and I took plan B about 4 hours after. How long should we wait before having sex again but this time with a condom?
You can have sex again at any time as long as you use condoms. Condoms work best when they are used correctly and consistently. Here are some tips for correct condom use.
Always check the expiration date to be sure it is not expired prior to use.
Condoms should be stored at room temperature in a sharps free environment.
Never use an oil-based lubricant with a latex condom. If you need additional lubricant, use a water-based type like KY Jelly or Astroglide.
Pinch the tip of the condom between the thumb and forefinger while rolling it onto the erect penis to ensure that there is no air pocket in the tip of the condom.
Smooth out the sides of the condom once it has been rolled on to ensure there are no air pockets in the sides of the condom.
Hold onto the rim or base of the condom while removing the penis from the vagina to prevent it from slipping off inside the vagina during removal.
Do not have any penis-vagina contact without a condom.
You and your partner may want to consider a hormonal method of birth control since…

Comments Off on my boyfriend and i are trying to have a baby. i took a plan b 4 months ago(and ive takin it one time b4 but it was months before) an we’ve only been trying for the past two months now but i’ve gotten my period both months. is my chances on getting pregnant slim because of the plan b
No, there is no evidence that Plan B use affects one’s fertility. However, most experts recommend that you wait at least three months after any type of hormonal contraceptive use before trying to become pregnant.
Women should use a non-hormonal method of birth control (like the condom) at least three months before attempting pregnancy. With the exception of Depo-Provera, most of the hormones in these methods are very quickly passed from your system (with Depo, it usually takes about six months but can take as long as two years). This three month time period will allow you to resume regular menstrual cycles so a pregnancy can be dated. This also allows the uterine lining to thicken and provide a better site for the placenta to implant and grow.
