Anytime you have unprotected sex, pregnancy is possible. Take a pregnancy test right away. If it is negative, repeat the test every two weeks until you have a normal period or a positive test result.

In the meantime, if you do not wish to become pregnant, either abstain from sexual intercourse or use condoms. Contact the provider who prescribed your pills to discuss the best way to restart your method.

Just in case you are pregnant, eat healthfully, start taking an over-the-counter prenatal vitamin, and avoid alcohol, street drugs, and tobacco. If you do test positive for pregnancy, be sure to get early prenatal care.

I take my birth control pills religiously( exactly the same time EVERY day), but had been on placebo week and also taking amoxicillin for 10days (3 pills daily). The day after I finished the antibiotics, i had intercourse and the frigging condom broke. My boyfriend didn’t ejaculate inside me. I haven’t taken Plan B. This is day 4 since the condom had broken. I have continued religiously taking my birth control pills. I know that antibiotics can interact with the effectiveness of the pill. What are the chances of being pregnant? When should I take a pregnancy test and have it be accurate???

Your risk of pregnancy is low. If you don’t have any bleeding during the placebo pills of your current pack, take a pregnancy test. If it is negative, keep taking your pills as directed. If you skip a second period, take another pregnancy test. Do not stop taking your pills unless you test positive for pregnancy.

I’ve been on the pill for about a year and a half. I just had my period, then took my first pill of my new pack like I was supposed to. But I forgot to take 3 pills during the first week, but I took two pills one day and two pills the next day to catch up to the right day. Ive been taking my birth control daily since then. I had unprotected sex so how likely is it that im pregnant?like

If the unprotected sex occurred during the missed pill days or within one week after the missed pills, your pregnancy risk is higher than it normally would be if you had taken your pills correctly. One act of unprotected sex would have a lower risk of pregnancy as opposed to multiple acts of unprotected sex. Thankfully, you made up your pills correctly and you re back on track. Try not to miss any more pills.

Because of your missed pills, you may have some mid-cycle bleeding or spotting, and your next period may be a little late or early.

Keep taking your pills as directed. If you miss your next period entirely, take a pregnancy test. If the test is negative and you miss a second period, take another pregnancy test. Do not stop taking your pills unless you test positive for pregnancy.

I had sex January 27 through the 29 and got my period February 2 through the 5. Could i be pregnant?

If your period was normal (same amount of blood flow and same number of days bleeding) and your periods are regular, pregnancy is extremely unlikely.

If you do not want to become pregnant, please either abstain from sexual intercourse or use a reliable method of birth control. Each time you have unprotected intercourse, your risk of pregnancy increases.

I had sex right after taking Plan B one step pill and we think the condom broke again! Could I get pregnant?

Comments Off on I had sex right after taking Plan B one step pill and we think the condom broke again! Could I get pregnant?

Unless you ovulated before you took Plan B, pregnancy is unlikely.

Plan B works just like regular birth control pills by preventing ovulation, interfering with fertilization, and possibly preventing implantation.  The hormones in Plan B and regular birth control pills are similar to hormones that are produced during pregnancy.  The brain sees these hormone shifts and recognizes it as a pregnancy.  The brain then sends a message back down to the ovaries to suppress ovulation as eggs are no longer needed because of the perceived pregnancy.  As long as the brain continues to see these hormone levels, ovulation does not occur.  Plan B temporarily prevents ovulation since the hormones are delivered in one large dose.  Eventually, hormone levels return to normal and the contraceptive effect wears off.  Women using regular birth control pills theoretically never ovulate while taking pills as they are receiving a steady dose of hormones.

If your condoms are consistently breaking, perhaps they are being used incorrectly. Here are some tips for correct condom use.

Always check the expiration date to be sure it is not expired prior to use.
Condoms should be stored at…

what if you havnt gotten your period and its going to be a month, and i just had sex last friday, could i be pregnant?

Comments Off on what if you havnt gotten your period and its going to be a month, and i just had sex last friday, could i be pregnant?

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.

If you haven’t  had your period for a month, it is because: 1. your pregnant  /or/  2. you have a hormonal imbalance that is causing you to have irregular cycles.

If you have regularly been having unprotected sex, there is that risk of pregnancy. Do a pregnancy test, either at home or at a clinic. If it is positive, then you have to review your options and make some decisions. Doing a pregnancy test today will not tell you anything about last Friday. You would need to wait at least 2-3 weeks before a urine pregnancy test would detect a pregnancy.

If your pregnancy test is negative, you’re still at risk for it if you continue having unprotected sex. If you normally have irregular cycles, you will also have irregular ovulation. Therefore, you can’t really know when your fertile time is. You could ovulate and become pregnant without getting a “next” period. A woman will ovulate before bleeding occurs. Bleeding (a period) occurs because a fertilized egg has not implanted itself…

I found out I had chlamydia and gonorrhea for 6 months. I just got treated a day ago. I am now thinking about getting on birth control. Being that chlamydia and gonorrhea mess up your reproductive system and I had it these des eases for six full months, would me getting on birth control mess up my reproductive system more? Would I have problems having children in the future?

If your infections caused any type of scarring in the fallopian tubes, you may have trouble conceiving or carrying a pregnancy to term. Check with the health care provider who treated you to inquire about the extent of damage caused by the infections.

With the exception of voluntarily sterilization (getting your tubes tied or tubal ligation), birth control methods are entirely reversible (you can become pregnant once you stop using them). There is a slightly longer return to fertility after stopping the Depo shot, however. Most women will resume normal menstrual cycles six months after stopping the shot. For some women, however, it can take up to two years for cycles to resume. If you are sexually active and wish to delay parenthood, please use some method of birth control.

I got off my period on the 26 of January. I had unprotected sex and my partner ejaculated inside of me. I took the emergency pill (plan B) on the last day. Seven days later, I begin to bleed slightly for six days. I have always gotten my period every 20-21 days. I am worried that I might be pregnant. Is there a possibility that I might be?

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.

Aftter taking Plan B, you may experience some irregular spotting or bleeding. This is normal. Your next period may be earlier or later than usual. It may be lighter, heavier or spottier than usual. If you do not have a period within 3 weeks, do a pregnancy test.

The end of a period is typically a less fertile time for most women, so the chance of pregnancy is lower (but not zero). Additionally, when taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex, Plan B can be up to 80% effective at preventing pregnancy.
