If you had your Depo shot a month ago, your shot would have provided adequate pregnancy prevention. Taking a single birth control pill was not necessary, nor would it have accomplished anything. More than 99% effective, Depo-Provera is one of the most effective birth control methods available. Pregnancy is extremely unlikely in your case.

Comments Off on I skipped my pill and had sex that night and the next morning, could I be pregnant?
Whenever you miss pills or take them late, your risk of pregnancy increases, so pregnancy is possible. The more pills you skip, the higher the risk. Hopefully you made your pill up correctly. When you miss a pill, you should take it as soon as you remember and then take your next pill at the regular time. If you don’t realize that you’ve skipped a pill until you’re ready to take your next one, take both pills at that time. Be sure to take the rest of your pills on time.
If you miss your next period, take a pregnancy test. If it is negative, repeat the test every two weeks until you either have a normal period or a positive test result. Do not stop taking your pills unless you test positive for pregnancy.

Comments Off on me n my boyfriend just had unprotected sex in which he ejaculated in me. i have an appointment tomorrow with my gyn to get the depo shot. will the shot still work and be effective even tho i had unprotected sex the night before i got it.
Please inform your provider about your unprotected sex. Most likely, they will postpone your first shot until they can confirm that you are definitely not pregnant. Depo does not work after the fact. It is best to get your first Depo shot within the first five days of your menstrual period; or, if you are getting your shot mid-cycle, you should abstain from sex for two weeks beforehand. Most providers will also give you a pregnancy test prior to your first shot to ensure that you are not pregnant.

Comments Off on If i had sex the day i ovulate but took plan b within 24hrs what are the chances of getting pregnanto
If you took Plan B prior to ovulating, it is unlikely that you will becom pregnant. However, if you ovulated before you took Plan B, you have a higher risk of pregnancy. According to the manufacturer, seven out of eight women who normally would have gotten pregnant will prevent pregnancy by taking Plan B.
Plan B works just like regular birth control pills by preventing ovulation, interfering with fertilization, and possibly preventing implantation. The hormones in Plan B and regular birth control pills are similar to hormones that are produced during pregnancy. The brain sees these hormone shifts and recognizes it as a pregnancy. The brain then sends a message back down to the ovaries to suppress ovulation as eggs are no longer needed because of the perceived pregnancy. As long as the brain continues to see these hormone levels, ovulation does not occur. Plan B temporarily prevents ovulation since the hormones are delivered in one large dose. Eventually, hormone levels return to normal and the contraceptive effect wears off. Women using regular birth control pills theoretically never ovulate while taking pills as they…

Comments Off on my bf and i have been having unprotected sex for about a year and a few months. recently we.ve done it a fee times a day everyday and he.s came inside me each time. now there is a bad smell and when we have sex avain white stuff comes out on his penis. is there anyway to get all of that out of my vaginal aasuming its all built up cum on my vaginal walls? (i dont have an std, already was checked for it a few weeks ago)
If there is unusual vaginal discharge that is accompanied by a foul odor, you probably have some type of vaginal infection. Though you were checked a few weeks ago for STDs, you might want to be checked again, just in case you were recently infected.
However, you may have a very common infection called bacterial vaginosis (BV), which is basically an overgrowth of the harmful bacteria in the vagina. Normally, the vagina contains mostly good bacteria and fewer harmful bacteria. BV develops when there is an increase in harmful bacteria. It is the most common vaginal infection in women of childbearing age, and is sometimes accompanied by a white or gray discharge, a strong fishy odor, pain, itching, and burning. BV is diagnosed by examining a specimen of vaginal fluid under a microscope, and it is treatable with antibiotics.
If you live near one of our offices, please call us for an appointment for a free STD screening. At your visit, we can take a vaginal smear to look under the microscope for the presence of BV, Trich, or yeast. If you are interested in…

Comments Off on le on the depo is it normal to bleed heavy bleedafter dry humping
If you are in your first year of Depo-Provera use, menstrual irregularities are extremely common and can occur at any time, regardless of what you’re doing. These irregularities include spotting or bleeding at any time, no bleeding at all, heavy and/or frequent bleeding, and irregular periods. So, if you are in your first year of use, the bleeding is normal. If you have been using the Depo for a year or more and you don’t normally have this type of bleeding, contact the provider who prescribed your Depo for further instruction.

While the symptoms you describe are pregnancy symptoms, they are also signs that your period may be on its way. The only way to know if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. If you miss your next period by a week or more, have a test done (either at home or at a clinic). If you live close to one of our offices, feel free to call us for an appointment. If your test is negative, repeat the test every two weeks until you either have a normal period or a positive test result.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, please don’t continue to have unprotected sex. Either abstain from sex or use a reliable method of birth control. If you do get your period, please call the Family Planning or Planned Parenthood office closest to you to discuss your contraceptive options.
If you are planning a pregnancy, you can help ensure a positive outcome by following the tips below:
Schedule a pre-pregnancy appointment with your doctor. Let your doctor know you are planning a pregnancy. Your doctor will…

Comments Off on I had protected sex about 2 weeks ago. My period just started on Sunday this past weekend. I believe I have developed a yeast infection but this this morning (Wednesday)i had a tampon in and when I took it out its like my period has just stopped. Every other time my period has lasted a week. Could a yeast infection or STI be possible reasons for my period to end early? What could be possible reasons for this to happen? for my period to end early? Or is it possible that my period hasnt ended yet it just seems that way now?
You may just be enjoying a brief respite from your period. In other words, your period may resume the next day. However, shortened periods can occur for a number of different reasons. As women age, their periods may change in length or amount of flow. Most commonly, menstrual irregularities are caused by some type of hormonal imbalance (for example, using a hormonal method of birth control, entering perimenopause, or other causes). Menstrual cycles and periods may be affected by increased stress, a change in routine, increased exercise, diet and weight loss, and some illnesses and medications.
Generally, yeast infections do not affect the length of your period. However, they often will occur just before your period. In a normal menstrual cycle, estrogen deposits glycogen (a form of sugar) in the cells that are found in the lining of the vagina. The release of progesterone causes the cells to shed into the vagina, so the sugar becomes available for yeast to feed on, multiply and grow. Estrogen and sugar production peak at the midpoint between periods, and then progesterone begins to build and sugar…

Comments Off on Me and my boyfriend had sex 9 days ago. Ive never been on the pill and he didnt use a condom. he also didnt pull out. He wasnt a virgin at the time but i was. How high is the chance of me being pregnant?
Anytime you have unprotected sex, there is the risk of pregnancy. You can become pregnant whether its your first time having sex or your 100th time having sex. The probability of pregnancy can depend on where you’re at within your menstrual cycle.
If you are familiar with or keep track of your periods, it is a little easier to roughly determine your fertile time. When you are in the middle of your cycle, around ovulation time, you are very fertile. During this time, the probability of becoming pregnant is high. Toward the end of your cycle (the days just prior to your period and during your period), you are usually less fertile. During this time, the risk of pregnancy is lower.

If you and your partner are not planning a pregnancy, consider using condoms or starting a long term method of birth control. If your next period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test.
Family Planning Plus clinics offer gynecological exams, birth control, pregnancy testing and emergency contraception for little to no cost, depending…

Comments Off on if i have sex with a condom although my seven days isnt up for being treated for a std will the infection still go away
If you take your medication correctly, yes, your infection will still be cured. Most STD medications can take up to 7 days to completely cure the infection. During this time, you may be able to infect your sexual partner. This is why we recommend no sexual activity for 7-10 days. Using a condom will decrease the risk of exposure to your partner, although not completely.
