Anytime you have unprotected sex, there is the possibility of pregnancy. If you are frequently missing your birth control pills, you cannot rely on them for protection. Missing even 1 or 2 pills can decrease the effectiveness enough to allow ovulation to occur.
Wait for your next period. In the meantime, do not have unprotected intercourse. If your next period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test.
After your next period comes, start a new cycle of pills and take them correctly & consistently. Set reminders, like your daily cell phone alarm, to remind you to take them. Ask your partner to remind you about your pills. If you are not able to remember a daily pill, you might want to consider switching to another birth control method that you do not need to take on a daily basis. Call your doctor or clinic to discuss your options.

Comments Off on Me and my boyfriend had sex on Febuary 26th, and we were wearing a condom, but it broke and he pulled out but some ejaculation fluids got inside me. We got Plan B One Step pill on Febuary 28th 23 hours after we had intercourse. I start my period on March 9th. Could i be pregnant if my period is more than a week away?
Anytime you have unprotected sex, there is the possibility of pregnancy.
Plan B contains the hormone progesterone. One of the ways it helps prevent pregnancy is by delaying ovulation. When taken within 24-72 hours after unprotected intercourse, it can be about 80% effective at preventing pregnancy. After taking Plan B, you may experience some irregular bleeding or spotting. Your next period may be a little earlier or later than usual. It may be lighter, heavier or spottier than normal. If your next period is more than 1 week late, then do a pregnancy test.

Comments Off on I am on day 4 of my antibiotics for Chlamydia. I had sex with my boyfriend last night and he came in me…what are the chances that I will not get rid of this or that I was re-infected? I will finish the regime on Thursday. He went to the clinic today and the initial screen was negative for him, HOW can that be possible? I think Ive it for some while bc of my sympotoms, so he should definitely have it…
Even if your partner’s chlamydia test was negative, he should still have been treated with antibiotics. According to the CDC guidelines and the PA State Dept. of Health guidelines, if one partner has a positive STD test, all other partners must also be treated.
It can be common for a woman to have a positive result, but her partner does not. The vagina is a warm, moist environment. Bacteria are able to survive for extended periods of time. One theory about the positive/negative scenario is this: since men urinate out of the same “tube” that they ejaculate out of, it is possible that the infection may not be detected. The best specimen is a man’s first urine of the day. This usually isn’t possible.
Just to make clear: Urinating after intercourse does not protect you or prevent you from being infected with a sexually transmitted infection!
Back to your question. If you were treated and your partner was not…yes, you could be reinfected. If your partner was not treated, he should contact his doctor or clinic and discuss the CDC guidelines with…

Comments Off on I started taking birth control 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I had unprotected sex, but he only pre came. It says that I was fertile yesterday and today I am ovulating. Could I be pregnant? I take my pill everyday at 7 am
The birth control pills are effective after 7 days of consecutive use. If you have been taking your pills correctly & consistently for 2 weeks, you are protected from pregnancy. It is unlikely that pregnancy would occur. When taken correctly & consistently, birth control pills are 96 to 98 % effective at preventing pregnancy.
Keep in mind that it can take up to 3-4 months for your body to become adjusted to being on the pill. You may experience some irregular bleeding or spotting, and your periods may be a little earlier or later. After the adjustment time, you should have regular monthly periods during the inactive (sugar) pills of your pill pack.

Comments Off on My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and he came inside me. He is the first guy that has ever came inside me. Ever since then I have been experiencing a fishy odor and milky discharge, what could cause this?
First, anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.
What you describe sound like a classic case of bacterial vaginosis (BV). BV is caused by an alteration in the vaginal pH. When the vagina’s pH become unbalanced, it allows “bad” bacteria to grow. BV is not a sexually transmitted infection, so your partner does not need treatment. It is characterized by thin, white milk discharge and a “fishy” odor. Sometimes, there may be vaginal burning or burning with urination. No one really knows the direct cause of BV, but anything that can irritate the vagina- sex, periods, pads, illness, medications, etc.- can contribute to vaginal infections.
BV is diagnosed by your health care provider during a vaginal infection check. It is treated with antibiotics.

Comments Off on My boyfriend came inside me last night for the first time and I am on the pill. The only reason I worry is because two days ago I forgot to take the pill, so yesterday before intercourse, I took two. I’m just wondering if its less effective since I took it a day late, and if I should get plan B today? Help!!
When you do not take your pills correctly & consistently, it will decrease their effectiveness. You did take the forgotten pill, so that is good. I assume you are continuing to take your pills every day. Overall, the risk of pregnancy is probably low, but it could be possible.
Taking Plan B would have been an option. Plan B is most effective when taken within 24-72 hours after unprotected intercourse. Research shows that it can also be effective when take as long as 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected intercourse. After 5 days, it’s probably ineffective and not worth taking.
Continue taking your pills every day. If your next period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test.

Comments Off on If you get semen on your fingers, wipe it off, then about ten minutes later you put your finger tip in a girl for about 3 seconds, can she get pregnant?
No. Sperm need a warm, moist environment to survive, so it is unlikely that any live sperm would be on your fingers.

Comments Off on I had sex 4 consecutive days (once per day) with my ex boyfriend the next day after my period ended and we used condom all the times. I wonder why my vagina smells so bad now. I’m a clean person and so is my ex and I always use femenine wash twice per day. Is the smell normal and how to get rid of it?
The most common reason for “bad” vaginal odor is a vaginal infection. Vaginal infections, like yeast and bacterial vaginosis are common. These are not sexually transmitted infections, so your partner would not need treatment.
Vaginal infections can occur when the vaginal pH becomes unbalanced. Several things can alter the vaginal pH. Things like periods, sex, illness, medications, or irritation from clothes, soaps, pads, etc. can cause an infection.
Yeast infections are characterized by thick, white cottage cheese like discharge that usually has no odor. There is typically intense itching in and around the vaginal area. Yeast infections are treated with over the counter anti-fungal medications (Monistat, Clotrimazole). Bactreial vaginosis exhibits as a thin, white, milky discharge that has a “fishy” odor. This odor may be more noticiable after intercourse or showering. There may be vaginal burning or discomfort with urination. BV is diagnosed by a doctor through an infection check. It is treated with an antibiotic.
Sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia and gonorrhea can also cause abnormal vaginal discharge and odor. If this is a concern, consider having an STD screening…
