It is most likely due to the Depo shot. During the first six months of Depo use, menstrual irregularities (irregular bleeding and spotting) are quite common. Depo is one of the most effective methods of birth control so pregnancy is highly unlikely in your case. Just be sure to get your shots on time.

Comments Off on I have been on birth control for over 2 years now and take it around the same time daily. I recently had unprotected sex two weeks ago while I was on the placebo pills, but he pulled out and came around my vagina but not inside. Is there a risk of pregnancy?
As long as you’ve been taking your pills as directed (around the same time every day), you are protected. You remain protected as long as you are using your method correctly (regardless of whether it’s your period week or not). During the first three weeks of your method use, hormones build up in your body to provide contraceptive protection through the seven days of your period week. Just don’t forget to start a new pack the very next day after you’ve taken your last placebo pill.
However, there is alway a slight risk of pregnancy even when you are using your method perfectly and regardless of which week of pills you are on.

Comments Off on I had an unprotected sex with my boyfriend a wk ago, the nxt day i started having this burning sensation after urinating with blood. Though it was the first time a penis wil penetrate into my virginal. Its been a week now and am stil feeling the pain. Am scared what do i do.
It’s possible that the burning and bleeding that you are experiencing is simply because you had sex for the first time and are not used to vaginal penetration. However, these are also symptoms of infection.
If you live near one of our offices, please call us for a free STD screening. The visit is completely confidential regardless of your age, and we can also provide you with a vaginal smear to check for other types of vaginal infections as well. If you live too far away, contact your regular medical care provider and describe your symptoms. If you are a minor (under 18) and would rather not share your situation with your parents, contact the Family Planning or Planned Parenthood office closest to you.
If you plan to continue to have sexual intercourse and do not want to become pregnant, you really need to use birth control. Family Planning and Planned Parenthood offices can also talk with you about your contraceptive options and help you choose a method that is best for you. Please make an appointment as soon as possible.

Comments Off on my boyfriend and i had sex a few weeks ago. im on the pill but also use a condom and he never comes inside of me. but in January my prescription ran out and there was a problem with my medical insurance so i didn’t take the pill for that month. i did however take it all of Februarand my period was normal for January. but i was supposed to start my period yesterday… but it still want come today. i feel like im getting ready to start but i haven’t and i took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. what are the chances of mw being pregnant??
If you restarted your birth control pills in February and took the entire cycle correctly & consistently, the chance of pregnancy is low. It may take your body a month or two to become readjusted to being on the pill again. Continue to take your pills every day. Your period should return to normal with the next month or two.

Comments Off on I’ve had sex once since my last period and we used a condom. I have been on the pill for a little over 3 years and take it regularly everyday. I am having pink discharge a week and a half before I’m supposed to get my next period. I’ve never had spotting in my life and have had no problems with the birth control I am on. Why is this happening?
If you are taking your birth control pills correctly & consistently, you should not have to worry about pregnancy. Some women may have a little mid-cycle spotting. This spotting is usually light pink in color and thin. It occurs in the middle of your pill pack (or cycle). For some women mid-cycle spotting occurs monthly, for other women, it occurs infrequently.
If your mid cycle spotting continues or becomes heavier, contact your doctor or clinic. They may suggest changing your birth control pills or having an infection check.

Comments Off on I have a unique case. I am ALWAYS late for periods. I just lost my virginity(unprotected but no ejaculation and I doubt pre-come), but I was already three days late for my period. Now I am over two weeks late, is it possible I am pregnant?
Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the chance of pregnancy.
If you have not already done so, perform a pregnancy test. This is the only way to know whether or not you are currently pregnant. If your test is negative and your period does not come next month, schedule an appointment with your doctor or clinic to discuss your menstrual history.
Family Planning Plus clinics offer gynecological exams, birth control, pregnancy testing and emergency contraception for little to no cost, depending on your household size and income. STD screenings are free for men and women of all ages. Please feel free to schedule an appointment at any of our clinic locations.

Comments Off on i stopped taking depo provera feb.8, me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex on feb.21, could i be pregnant?
It is possible. Once you stop receiving the Depo injection, you no longer are protected by any birth control. After discontinuing the Depo, it can take 1 to 12 months for your periods to return on a normal monthly basis. Some women may ovulate right away, while other women may take several months before ovulation occurs. Ovulation will occur before you have a bleed, so you probably won’t know when ovulation does occur. Therefore, it is possible to get pregnant right away after stopping the Depo injection.
