I have been on birth control, a low dosage for over a year now. I was always good at remembering it each day but not always the same time. Lately, my life have been hectic and I have not been so good with it. I would take two or three pills sometimes to catch up. I am curious to see if Im pregnant because…. i took two pills about 5 hours before i had sex in the middle of the night. My boyfriend cummed inside me (he has multiple times before & never got pregnant) but i lost my birth control pack and i did not take it the following day and it has been about like 4 days since finally found it and randomly took a pill. I was also at the very end of my ovulation week when we had sex…. how likely is it that i am prego?

Missing that many pills in a row greatly increases your risk of pregnancy. Do not continue to have unprotected sex. If you can, try to catch up on your pills by taking two pills a day until you are caught up and then resuming the one pill daily schedule. Also, use condoms in addition to the pill for the remainder of this pack and during the first week of your next pack. If you fail to have any bleeding during your sugar pills (the last week of this pack), then take a pregnancy test. If it is negative, repeat the test every two weeks until you have a normal period or a positive test result. Do not stop taking your pills unless you test positive for pregnancy.

In the meantime, you may want to contact the medical care provider who prescribed your pill to discuss other methods of birth control that do not require daily use.

Do not continue to have unprotected sex. Pregnancy is definitely possible. The more times you have unprotected sex, the greater your risk. If you live near one of our offices, please call us for an appointment. We can talk with you about all of your contraceptive options and help you choose one that is best for you. If you live further away, contact the Family Planning or Planned Parenthood office closest to you. Until you start a method of birth control, either abstain from sexual intercourse or use condoms for each sexual act.

I am on the pill and have always been on time, never missed a day, and my boyfriend always pulls out.. but I am three days late for my period. I heard stress can delay your period, and I was stressed for a couple days before I was supposed to start. Could I be pregnant?

Pregnancy is highly unlikely in your situation, but the pill is not 100% effective even if it is used perfectly. You are correct – increased stress levels and changes in routine may affect the regularity of menstrual cycles.  Late or missed periods can also be caused by hormonal imbalances, perimenopause, illness or infection, use of certain medications, and excessive dieting or exercise.

If you don’t have any bleeding at all by the time you’re ready to open your next pack of pills, go ahead and take a pregnancy test. Do not stop taking your birth control pills unless you test positive for pregnancy. If you miss a second period, contact the provider who prescribed your pill for an appointment.

me and my boyfriend had sex without a condom for couple minutes, later he pu on a condom, so we wee protected, can i stil get pregnet even though we didnt use a condom the couple of minutes we were having sex?

Comments Off on me and my boyfriend had sex without a condom for couple minutes, later he pu on a condom, so we wee protected, can i stil get pregnet even though we didnt use a condom the couple of minutes we were having sex?

Yes. Prior to ejaculation (cumming), pre-seminal fluid can leak out of the penis at any time during sexual intercourse.  Sometimes this fluid contains sperm that is left in the urethra from a previous ejaculation. If it does, pregnancy can occur. If the incident occurred less than five days ago, we would recommend Plan B.

Plan B works by delaying ovulation (the monthly release of an egg), and possibly by interfering with fertilization (the union of sperm and egg) and implantation (when the fertilized egg implants itself into the uterine wall). If you are already pregnant, it will not terminate the pregnancy.

If you are 17 or older, you can purchase Plan B at most drug stores without a prescription. You will need to ask the pharmacist for Plan B as it is located behind the counter. You may also need to show ID to prove your age. Plan B is around $50 in pharmacies. If you are under 17, you will need a prescription from a doctor. You can also get Plan B from a Family Plannning or Planned Parenthood clinic for free or at a reduced cost….

I missed my birth control two days in a row and had sex on the first day I forgot to take my birth control. I continued on the third day and took one pill and didn’t bleed until the very next day. Since I am bleeding does that mean I am officially NOT pregnant?

Pregnancy is unlikely since you are bleeding but not impossible. Whenever you miss pills, you need to make them up and it doesn’t sound like you did. When you miss two or more pills in a row, you should take two pills a day until you are caught and then resume the one pill daily schedule. You should also use a back-up method (for example, condoms) along with your pills for the next 14 days.

If you frequently miss pills, you may want to contact the medical provider who prescribed your pill to discuss a method change. If you would like to stay on the pill and you have a cell phone, you can set your alarm to go off at a certain time each day to remind you to take a pill. You can also register for free daily text reminders on www.bedsider.org.

“I just had sex for the first time , we had a condom but after about 3 minutes he pulled out and the condom came off. Is this bad ? , also I’m having stomach cramps.”

If he ejaculated and semen spilled inside or near the vaginal opening when the condom came off, pregnancy is possible. Also, if he did not ejaculate but there was penis-vagina contact without a condom, pregnancy is possible. Pre-seminal fluid can leak out of the penis at any time during sexual intercourse. This fluid may contain sperm which could result in a pregnancy.

If you think you may have been exposed to semen or pre-seminal fluid, we would recommend Plan B. Plan B is a pill that you can take up to five days after unprotected sex. However, the sooner you use it , the more effective it is.

Plan B works by delaying ovulation (the monthly release of an egg), and possibly by interfering with fertilization (the union of sperm and egg) and implantation (when the fertilized egg implants itself into the uterine wall). If you are already pregnant, it will not terminate the pregnancy.

What does it mean if your period lasts longer than normal AND your are consistently taking the pill?

Comments Off on What does it mean if your period lasts longer than normal AND your are consistently taking the pill?

If it’s just a day or two longer and was not a very heavy flow, it doesn’t really mean anything. It just means that your body built more of a lining for you to shed or it took a couple extra days to expel the lining. If your period was significantly longer and/or your flow was significantly heavier than it normally is, contact the medical provider who prescribed your pil for an appointment.

That’s up to you!

Whenever you have unprotected sex, however, you risk pregnancy and STD’s. Multiple partners increase the risk of STDs. We would recommend condom use.

I had sex with a girl and used a condom, she was due to come on her period the next day but is now 5 days late, should i be worried about pregnancy?

15. March 2012

As long as there was no penis-vagina contact without a condom and as long as the condom was intact when you withdrew, pregnancy is unlikely. However, condoms are not 100% effective – there may have been a defect in the condom or you may have used an oil-based lubricant which can weaken latex. If she doesn’t get her period within the next five days, she can take a pregnancy test. If it is negative, she should repeat the test every two weeks until she has a normal period or a positive test result. Good luck.
