I had been on birth control for a day less than 2 weeks and my boyfriend ejaculated in me. I would not be worried, except I have taken the pill hours late almost every day. Is there a good chance that I am pregnant? I just want to know the odds.

If you are taking your pills correctly & consistently, and have taken them for at least 7 consecutive days, then they are effective. While it is good to take your pills at the same time each day, taking them an hour or two earlier or later should not decrease their effectiveness.

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. If you are not taking your birth control pills correctly or consistently, you cannot rely on them to be effective at preventing pregnancy. You need to take your pills every day in order for them to work.

If you are not taking your pills correctly, you will also not have cycle control. Missing and being late with the pills can cause you to have irregular bleeding and spotting. Your period may be earlier or later than expected. If you think you are having pregnancy symptoms, do a pregnancy test.

If you are forgetting your pills frequently, use condoms or do not have sex. Family Planning clinics offer free condoms. You may want to contact your doctor or clinic to discuss beginning another form of birth control that is easier for you to remember. If you need to restart your pills, call your doctor for information on when to do this.

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. However, your partner used a condom and did not ejaculate. The condom remained intact. The chance of pregnancy is low.

Several things can affect your menstrual cycle. Things like stress, illness, or changes in diet, exercise or sleep patterns can alter your period. Your period could come earlier or later than usual. You have taken 3 pregnancy tests, which have all been negative, so it is unlikely that you are pregnant. It may take your body a month or two to become adjusted to your new routine.

If you are going to continue to be sexually active, and are not planning a pregnancy, it is important to continue using condoms. You may want to consider beginning a long term method of birth control like the pills or Depo Provera injection. These would provide you with birth control and would help regulate your menstrual cycle.

Family Planning Plus clinics offer gynecological exams, birth control, pregnancy testing and emergency contraception for little to no cost, depending on your household size and income. STD screenings…

if i had chlamydia then took the medicine and then two days later had sex with someone who had it do i still have it?

Its difficult to determine whether or not you would be reinfected. Most antibiotics take at least 3 to 5 days, sometimes up to 7 days to be fully effective in the treatment of chlamydia.

Two important things: First, it is important that you take your medication correctly & consistently, especially if you are taking the 7 day course of therapy (usually Doxycycline). Keep in mind, that, even the one dose therapy (usually Azithromycin) may take up to 7 days to be effective. That means that you could infect a partner during this time.

Second, it is important for your current partner to be treated. If he is not treated, and you are intimate with him, he could reinfect you with chlamydia.

The recommendation is to abstain from sexual activity for 7 to 10 days during treatment and/or until your partner completes his treatment. If you are concerned about the infection not resolving, consider being retested in about 2-3 months.

A couple weeks ago I was on a Z-pack for bronchitis. I take Loestrin for birth control. My boyfriend and I had sex around 3-4 days after I finished the Z-pack, and he came inside me. I have not regularly stopped taking my BC pills. What are the chances of me being pregnant?

Some antibiotics will decrease the effectiveness of your birth control pills. However, since there isn’t a lot of research on this, it is unknown how much of a decrease any one antibiotic will cause. Factors determining the effects on birth control may include the type and dose of the birth control pill, type and dosage of the antibiotic, length of therapy.

We recommend using condoms or abstinence while taking the antibiotic and for at least 7 days after the completion of the medication in order to help decrease the risk of pregnancy.

Continue taking your pills every day. If your next period is more than 1 week late, perform a pregnancy test.

If I was taking a different brand of birth control until my period, and started a new one on the sunday after it like I was supposed to, and had unprotected sex (was ejaculated in) on the second day of a new pill brand, should I worry? I take my pills as directed.

As long as there has been no lapse in taking your pills, you do not have to worry.

why does it hurt during intercourse?

Comments Off on why does it hurt during intercourse?

There are several reasons that cause discomfort during intercourse. The most common reasons are position and lack of lubrication.

For some women, certain sexual positions are more comfortable than others. This is individual and varies among women. For example, if “doggie-style” hurts, don”t do it. If this is the case, having a partner that loves and respects your wishes is helpful. Maintaining open and honest communication with your partner is important.

Another common reason for discomfort during sex is lack of lubrication. This may be due to hormonal imbalance, medications, or lack of arousal. This can be helped by using any over the counter vaginal lubricant.

If neither of these helps decrease discomfort, follow up with your ob/gyn doctor. The clinician may want to do a vaginal exam to rule out infection.

My boyfriend and I had sex last night and he came in me twice. I have been on birth control for about 3 years but never was good at taking it consistently. A couple months ago I started taking my combination bc pill around the same time every day. This month I have taken my birth control at the exact time for eight consecutive days. Could I still become pregnant? Do I need Plan B? Also…I only get my period about every 4-5 months.

If you have been taking the birth control pills correctly & consistently for at least 7 consecutive days, then you most likely are protected. Continue to take them every day, around the same time.

If you had unprotected intercourse after your last period and prior to beginning the pills, there is the possibility of pregnancy from those encounters. If your next period is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test.

my girlfriend has been taking levora (birth control pills) for a month without missing any days, is the pill still effective/protect against pregnancy if she has food poisoning/diarreah while still taking the pill everyday?

20. March 2012

Comments Off on my girlfriend has been taking levora (birth control pills) for a month without missing any days, is the pill still effective/protect against pregnancy if she has food poisoning/diarreah while still taking the pill everyday?

As long as your partner is taking her birth control pills correctly & consistently, she is protected. However, if she has been on antibiotics to treat her food poisoning, then the pills may not be as effective. Some antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. We recommend using condoms or abstinence while taking the antibiotics and for at least 7 days after completion of the medication.

If you partner is having diarrhea due to a stomach virus, her pills would continue to be effective, as long as she continued to take them every day.  It is important for your partner to increase her fluids to prevent dehydration.
