Okay here’s my question… Me and my gf had sex on my birthday, and I did not have a condomn but she is on birth control. So I wasn’t worried til he told me she was a week late on her period but she did have it then about a week ago I noticed a brown line in her tummy, is that an early indication of a pregnancy?

As long as your partner is taking her birth control pills correctly & consistently, the chance of pregnancy is low. Several things can alter periods. Stress, illness, changes in exercise or sleep can cause periods to be a little earlier or later than usual. This is usually not a concern, and her cycles should return to normal.

If your partner consistently misses or is late with taking her pills, then her cycles may be irregular and her protection will be less effective. A brown line on her abdomen is not an indication of early pregnancy. If you and she are still concerned about the possibility of pregnancy, do a pregnancy test. In the meantime, have your partner continue taking her birth control pills every day, at the same time every day.

If you are not planning a pregnancy at this time, assume that you are no longer protected once your Implanon expires. Abstain from sex or use condoms until you review your options for birth control.

I’m seeing this man right now and we have had unprotected sex a few times and he has come inside of me. I’m fixed and cannot get preg. When he has come inside of me and I go to the washroom to clean up I notice that the seman has a shade of pink to it. The other man that has come inside of me was my childrens father and I have never had that before. I’m pretty sure its not me that was spotting or anything as after having sex before I have never expierenced this. What could this be and could it be dangerous to me with him comming inside of me?

Most men do not have any symptoms of sexually transmitted infections and their semen appears normal. The most likely possibility is that you are seeing his semen mixed with some pink spotting from your vagina. Spotting after intercourse can be a normal, occasional occurrence. However, if you are having persistent bloody spotting after intercourse, this may be a symptom of a vaginal infection.

You and your partner may want to consider being screened for sexually transmitted infections. STD screenings consist of testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV and syphilis. Chlamydia and gonorrhea testing is done either by urine specimen (for men & women) or by a cervical swab (women only). A blood sample is obtained for HIV & syphilis testing. If a woman is having symptoms, a vaginal infection check may be done. If any result is positive, the clinic will offer treatment.

Family Planning Plus clinics offer free STD screenings for men and women of all ages. Please feel free to schedule an appointment at any of our clinic locations.

i took plan b on friday and had sex again on saturday, is plan b still effective

Comments Off on i took plan b on friday and had sex again on saturday, is plan b still effective

According to the product’s instructions, it is not effective for repeated acts of unprotected intercourse. Plan B gives your body the hormone progesterone (one of the same hormones found in regular birth control pills). It helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. Because Plan B alters your menstrual cycle, frequent, repeated use of it may actually increase your risk of pregnancy.

You should have a period within 3 weeks after taking Plan B. If you do not have a period, do a pregnancy test. In the meantime, do not have unprotected intercourse. Consider abstaining from sex or using condoms. You may also consider starting a long term method of birth control like the pill, patch, vaginal ring or DepoProvera injection.

Family Planning Plus clinics offer gynecological exams, birth control, pregnancy testing and emergency contraception for little to no cost, depending on your household size and income. STD screenings are free for men and women of all ages. Please feel free to schedule an appointment at any of our clinic locations.

During the month of Feb. my boyfriend and i have been having unprotexted sex almost every weekend up until early March. Thats when i started becoming ill. My symptoms included swolled lymph nodes on my neck, sore throat, and headaches. i also noticed a white pimple at the back of my throat. My mom took me to several clinics and they all tested me for stripped throat. All three times i came out negitive. The nurse then gave me an antibotic shot on my bottom. I was still feeling worse at the time. i couldnt eat because everything except coffee would hurt. My mom took me to the emergency room 15 miles away. The doc checked me for other swollen lymph nodes. He asked my mom to step out and asked me about sexual intercourse. i told him everything. he gave me a pep smear. and tested me for stds. i cried when they told me. A very kind nurse told me it could be cured with medication. The Doctor asked me if it was the first time. (im a junior) i lost it my freshman year after prom. i had trouble telling them that my boyfriend lost his virginity to me, because im 17 and he’s 18. i know he wouldnt cheat. what guy cheats on his first sexual partner? When i told him he was so confused. i asked him if he washes himself down there underneath the extra skin. He told me yes with reassurance that he does it before we had sex. I asked him to get tested or the relationship would end. He told me he would, but that he’s never done that. He doesnt know how much they would charge and if his parents found out he wouldnt know what to do. so we left it at that. My boyfriend and i have not sexual intercourse since then. i finished my meds and took five different pills everyday like i was required. we are in April and i get sudden urges ti have sex. but everything that i went through took those urges away. Can a condom prevent this from happening again? what im saying is that i want to have sex but i dont want to recieve an std again. what should i do?

You don’t state what infection you had, but, if you were diagnosed with an STD, your partner needs to be treated for the same. Do not have sexual activity with your partner until he is treated or you may be reinfected.

Your partner may want to make an appointment with his family doctor for treatment. If he does not have insurance or wants to maintain privacy, Family Planning Plus clinics do offer free STD screenings for men & women of all ages. If you and your partner do not live close to any of our clinic locations, check your phone book for any local Planned Parenthood clinics.

During the visit, the healthcare provider will ask questions about sexual history. Your partner will need to let the doctor/nurse know that he needs treatment for the STI that you tested positive for. STD screening usually consists of a urine specimen for chlamydia & gonorrhea, and a blood draw for HIV & syphilis. The clinic will provide medication for treatment, if necessary. You may also want to consider being retested in 6 to…

First, if you have been having unprotected intercourse, do a pregnancy test. If your test is negative, repeat again in 2 weeks. If your pregnancy test remains negative, but your period still hasn’t started, you would want to follow up with your doctor or clinic for evaluation.

If you are on the birth control pills, patch, or vaginal ring, and you are using your method correctly & consistently, then the chance of pregnancy is unlikely. Likewise, if you are using the DepoProvera and receiving your injections on time, pregnancy is unlikely.

At the very least, wait 2 weeks before doing a pregnancy test. However, if your next period is more that 1 week late, do/repeat the pregnancy test.

Your body should begin to have regular periods on its own. It may take 1 to 4 months for your body to adjust to not being on the birth control pills. You will no longer be protected from pregnancy.  Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the possibility of pregnancy. If you are not planning a pregnancy at this time, consider abstaining from sex or using condoms. You could also discuss other birth control options with your doctor or clinic.
