I’ve been on the same oral contraceptive for a year now. I’m 16, I had sex for the first time about a month ago. Saturday, May 5th, I had sex for the second time and experienced brown discharge afterwards and it hasn’t stopped since then. I don’t know what this is or how I can stop it. I’ve been reading on the internet about breakthrough bleeding due to switching birth control and possible pregnancy. Pregnancy is near impossible considering I’ve been reguarly taking my pills (Apri .30) and he wore a condom.

As long as you have been taking your birth control pills correctly & consistently, you should not need to worry about pregnancy.

Brown discharge is usually indicative of dried, old blood. It is not uncommon for women to have irregular spotting from time to time. Continue taking your pills daily. This should correct itself and go away over the next month.
