It was wise to use the morning after pill just in case sperm may have leaked out of the condom after ejaculation. In the future, he should hold on to the base or rim of the condom while withdrawing the penis from the vagina immediately after ejaculation. He should then use a new condom before resuming intercourse.
Since you used both a condom and the morning after pill, pregnancy is highly unlikely. However, if you are a week or more late for your period, take a pregnancy test. If it is negative, repeat the test every two weeks until you have a normal period or a positive test result.
The morning after pill should not be used as a regular method of birth control as it is less effective than other methods. You may want to try a hormonal method of birth control as they are more effective. If you live near one of our offices, please call us for an appointment to discuss your contraceptive options.
