It is possible to get chlamydia in the eye, however, this is more commonly seen in babies whose mothers were infected with chlamydia at the time of delivery. The bacteria that causes pink eye is not related to chlamydia.

Pink eye is very contagious. If your partner had it, or you were around another person who had it, you probably contracted it from general contact. The infected person touched something, you touched it, then rubbed your eye. Antibiotic eye drops are effective treatment for pink eye. Good and frequent handwashing is also important. Some employers and school disctricts recommend staying at home until the pink eye infection is cleared.
