Me and my boyfriend had protected sex, but the next morning (about 9 hrs later) took plan b. Later that night we had sex again. First we ysed a condom, then decided to try without it. He didnt cum inside me, but could I still be pregnant from any semen left around my vagina or his penis? Also could the plan b pill, taken that morning, prevent me from being pregnant??

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.

Plan B helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. According to the literature, it is only good for one event of unprotected intercourse. If other unprotected sexual events occur, it is recommended that Plan B be taken again. However, due to its mechanism of action, frequent use of Plan B may actually increase the chances of pregnancy.

If you & your partner are not planning a pregnancy, consider beginning a long term method of birth control, like the birth control pills, patch, vaginal ring or Depo Provera injection. Condoms, when used correctly & consistently, can be effective at preventing pregnancy.

If your next period is more than a week late, do a pregnancy test.
