I’m not sure I understand your question. One can be infected with HSV type 1 , HSV type 2, both, or neither. When having HSV blood testing done, it is recommended that the blood be tested for both types of antibodies. One of the reasons to test for both, especially in the presence of genital lesions, is that some people can have a genital outbreak of type 1. Type 1 outbreaks are usually milder and less frequent that type 2 outbreaks.
One type does not necessarily make the other type worse. However, both types of herpes outbreaks can be caused by a decrease in your immune system (stress, illness). So, a person could have an oral and genital outbreak at the same time.
If you have other questions or concerns, contact your doctor or clinic.
