Its difficult to determine whether or not you would be reinfected. Most antibiotics take at least 3 to 5 days, sometimes up to 7 days to be fully effective in the treatment of chlamydia.
Two important things: First, it is important that you take your medication correctly & consistently, especially if you are taking the 7 day course of therapy (usually Doxycycline). Keep in mind, that, even the one dose therapy (usually Azithromycin) may take up to 7 days to be effective. That means that you could infect a partner during this time.
Second, it is important for your current partner to be treated. If he is not treated, and you are intimate with him, he could reinfect you with chlamydia.
The recommendation is to abstain from sexual activity for 7 to 10 days during treatment and/or until your partner completes his treatment. If you are concerned about the infection not resolving, consider being retested in about 2-3 months.
