Prior to ejaculation, the penis will leak a small amount of pre-ejaculatory fluid (pre cum). This fluid may contain sperm which could result in pregnancy. Therefore, it is possible to become pregnant, even if ejaculation does not occur in the vagina.
Plan B, when taken within 24 hours after unprotected sex, is about 75% to 80% effective at preventing pregnancy. Although these are good percentages, there are times when Plan B fails to prevent pregnancy.
If you are concerned about being pregnant, wait for your next period. If it is more than 1 week late, do a pregnancy test. In the meantime, do not have unprotected intercourse. Abstain or use condoms. Consider starting a long term method of birth control like the pills or DepoProvera injection.
