Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. However, the timing of intercourse can increase or decrease the chances. The days just prior to your period and the first few days of your period should be your least fertile time. Therefore, the risk of pregnancy would be less. Keep in mind that menstrual cycles can be shorter or longer, so ovulation times will vary.
