I had recently started taking birth control, and had unprotected sex the first day of my ovulation cycle. The guy did not ejaculate inside of me, but rather, he withdrew. He did, however, put his penis back inside of me after he ejaculated, without washing it or anything. How likely is it that pregnancy could occur. I feel it is necessary to mention that I have 2 children who were conceived while using the “pull-out method,” but I was not on any kind of birth control at that time.

It’s difficult to answer your question without knowing what type of birth control you are using.

I am assuming that you are using some type of hormonal birth control (the pill, the patch , the ring, the shot, the implant, or the Mirena IUD) . If the intercourse occurred at least one week after you started your method, you were protected from pregnancy by your method, regardless of whether he pulled out or not. The above methods prevent ovulation for as long as you are using your method correctly. If the intercourse occurred during the first week of your new method, pregnancy is possible. If you miss your next period by a week or more, take a pregnancy test.
