If I came back negative for STDs after having sex with my boyfriend, who has never been tested, can he still be positive for STDs? Should he still test himself?

If would be a good idea for your partner to have an STD screening done. Even if you are negative, there is a possibility that he could be positive. It is not know how much exposure one needs to have before he/she becomes infected. Your partner could be positive and you just haven’t been infected yet.

STD screening usually involves a blood draw for HIV and syphilis, and a urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Family Planning Plus clinics offer free STD screenings for men and women.
