My boyfriend and I had sex. A few times, the condom broke. It’s next month and I still dont have my period. He had said that he didn’t cum, but I’m not sure. My period is also irregular, can I get some answers before I jump to conclusions?

Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. Even if ejaculation does not occur, a small amount of pre-ejaculatory fluid will leak out of the penis. This fluid (pre cum) may contain sperm and could result in pregnancy.

First, take a pregnancy test. Whatever result you have will determine your next step.

If your periods are irregular, your ovulation time will be irregular, too. Just as you are unsure of when your period will begin, you are unsure of when you’re ovulating.  It is important to consistently use a reliable method of birth control.

Consider beginning a long term hormonal method like the birth control pills, patch or vaginal ring. When taken correctly, these methods can provide you with effective pregnancy prevention as well as cycle control. This way, you’ll know when your period will come.
