Implanon is a single rod, implantable contraceptive that has recently (within the past 2 years) been FDA approved for use. It is a progesterone-only method, so it is generally safe for use by all women. It is especially beneficial for those women who need birth control, but who are unable to use estrogen containing methods.
According to the research, Implanon is 99% effective and is good for 3 years. It is effective almost immediately after insertion, so there is practically no waiting time. It is inserted by the doctor during an office visit. At the end of 3 years, the clinician removes the rod. As per the literature, fertility usually returns to normal within several months. If continued protection is required, another rod can be implanted.
Some medications can decrease the effectiveness of this method. Medications that are broken down in the liver or that affect liver enzymes may decrease the effectiveness of Implanon. Discuss any medications you take with your doctor.
Ok, now to your question. If you have had the Implanon inserted, and your partner ejaculates inside of you, it is very unlikely that you would become pregnant.
