My fiance’s period is five days late. We took the test and it came back negative, we plan on taking another in the next three days. We use condoms in combination with withdrawal. She has been heavily stressed lately and has been experiencing no symptoms. I was wondering what the chances of pregnancy were?

If you use condoms and withdrawal correctly & consistently, it is unlikely that your parnter is pregnant. Many things can cause changes in a woman’s menstrual cycle. Things like stress, illness, changes in diet, exercise or sleep may cause her periods to come earlier, later, or sometimes, not at all.

What you did is appropriate. Repeat the pregnancy test in 2-3 weeks. If it is still negative, then your partner is not pregnant. Wait for another month. If her period skips another month, consult with her family doctor or ob/gyn doctor.
