The bottom line: if you take your birth control pills correctly & consistently, at around the same time every day (within 1-2 hours of the same time), then you do not have to worry about pregnancy.
Taking your pills inconsistently may cause a decrease in their effectiveness. If you miss a pill or take 2 pills in one day, use condoms as a back up method for at least 7 days. Some antibiotics may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Therefore, use abstinence or condoms during the time you are on the antibiotics and for at least 7 days after completion of the antibiotics.
If you are taking your pills correctly & consistently, and are in a monogamous relationship where you do not have to be concerned about STDs, then your partner does not need to regularly use a condom. If you or your partner have other/multiple partners, then using condoms would be a good idea to prevent infections.
