I am taking the birth control, introvale, which is supposed to make it so I only have my period four times a year. I started taking it the first month right when my period ended, and am now in the second month, last week I started spotting and am now having a pretty regular flow. Why am I on my period?

It can take 6 to 9 months for your body to become adjusted to this regimen of having bleeding only 4 times a year. Additionally, a common side effect can be irregular spotting and bleeding at any time during its use. Due to hormonal fluctuations that occur naturally in our bodies, irregular spotting may occasionally occur. Continue to take your pills every day, and this will get better.
