for the last 5 months, my husband and i have been having unprotected sex but he pulls out before he ejaculates. Should i be concern that i haven’t gotten pregnant as yet?

Fertility depends on several factors. Things like your age, weight, health status, menstrual history, drug & alcohol use and smoking can all affect fertility. Your partner’s health status affects his fertility also.

For most couples, the average time to conceive is about 6 to 9 months. If you are young, like 30 or under, most doctors recommend attempting pregnancy for one full year. If no pregnancy occurs after that length of time, follow up with an ob/gyn doctor or fertility specialist. For women 35 or older, the recommended length of “trying” is 6 months before following up with a specialist.
