If I am on the pill, and my boyfriend finished inside of me the day I started my period, is there a higher risk of pregnancy?

As long as you’ve been taking your pills as directed (around the same time every day) and as long as you have taken at least one week’s worth of pills, you are protected. You remain protected as long as you are taking a pill every single day (regardless of whether it is a hormone pill or a placebo pill). During the active pills in your pack (the first three weeks), hormones build up in your body to last you through the seven days of your placebo pills so you are even protected during your period week. Just don’t forget to start a new pack the very next day after you’ve finished your placebo pills.
