Plan B contains the hormone progesterone. One of the ways it helps prevent pregnancy by delaying ovulation. After taking Plan B, you may experience some irregular spotting or bleeding. Your next period may be earlier or later than normal. It may be lighter, heavier or spottier than normal. You should have a period within 3 weeks after Plan B. If your period does not come after 3 weeks, then do a pregnancy test.
Family Planning Plus clinics offer gynecological exams, birth control, pregnancy testing and emergency contraception for little to no cost, depending on your household size and income.
