Yes, pregnancy is possible and it is likely that the unprotected intercourse occurred around the time of ovulation. However, you won’t know if you’re pregnant until you take a pregnancy test. If you miss your next period by more than a week, take a pregnancy test. If it is negative, repeat the test every two weeks until you have a normal period or a positive test result.
In the meantime, if you do not wish to be pregnant, either abstain from sexual intercourse or use condoms. If you are interested in starting a hormonal method of birth control, call us or another medical care provider for an appointment.
