If your partner is taking her birth control pills correctly & consistently, then the risk of pregnancy is very low. She would be protected from pregnancy even if you did not use a condom. Condoms are a good back up method, especially if your girlfriend would forget her pill or take it later than usual.
If your partner takes her pills regularly, then she wouldn’t need Plan B. However, it did not hurt her in taking it. Plan B does not contain estrogen, so it is safe for most all women. After taking Plan B, your partner may experience some irregular bleeding or spotting during her next cycle. Her next period may be earlier or later than normal. Her flow may be lighter, heavier or spottier than usual. Your partner should continue to take her pills and should begin a new pill pack as scheduled.
