Any time you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy.
you are usually regular with your birth control pills. You forgot to take your pill before bed, but took it in the morning. So, your pill was probably 12 hours late and you then had to take 2 pills on the same day? If this is correct, then you could go either way with the Plan B. It is not known if taking your pill this late would significantly decrease your birth control. Another factor that would decrease your risk is that your partner did not ejaculate inside you, although pre-ejaculatory fluid can contain a small amount of sperm.
If it gives you and your partner peace of mind, taking Plan B would not be harmful. Plan B does not contain estrogen, so it is safe for most all women. If Plan B, or even if you don’t, continue taking your birth control pills every day.
If you do take Plan B, you may experience some irregular bleeding or spotting during this cycle. Your next period may be earlier or later than usual. Your flow may be lighter, heavier or spottier than normal.
