Since your period just ended, you may not have ovulated yet this cycle. If that is the case, the risk of pregnancy is low. However, your cycles will probably be irregular for a while because of your recent Depo use. Therefore, it’s really difficult to say. To reduce your risk of pregnancy, use the morning after pill as soon as possible. Plan B is available over-the-counter at most drug stores if you are 17 or older. You do have to ask the pharmacist for it since it is located behind the counter and you may have to show ID to prove your age. The cost is about $50. You can also get the morning after pill at most Family Planning and Planned Parenthood offices for little or no money.
If you do not have any bleeding for five consecutive weeks, take a pregnancy test. Repeat the test every two weeks until you either have a normal period or a positive test result.
If you plan to continue to have sexual intercourse, please contact the provider who prescribed your Depo and either restart that method or start a new method. Until you do, either abstain from sexual intercourse or use condoms. Do not continue to have unprotected sex.
