Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, there is the risk of pregnancy. It takes at least 7 days of continuous use for birth control pills to be effective. If you started your pills on day 3 of your period, this means that you had unprotected sex on day 7 of your cycle. That early in your cycle should be your least fertile time, therefore, the risk of pregnancy is probably low.
