Pregnancy is possible, but the risk is not high. Pre-ejaculatory fluid can leak out of the penis prior to ejaculation. This fluid can contain sperm which could cause pregnancy. Also, since he ejaculated near the vagina, some of the semen may have entered the vagina before you were able to wash it off. If you miss your next period by a week or more, take a pregnancy test.  Repeat the test every two weeks until you have a normal period or a positive test result.

Regarding your partner’s use of antibiotics, they would have no impact on your risk of pregnancy. You should ask him why he is taking them. If he is taking them for a sexually transmitted infection, then you are at risk for becoming infected also. You should be tested if that is the case. More than likely, he is using antibiotics for some other type of infection unrelated to sex.

If you plan to continue to have sex, please use a reliable method of birth control. Condoms are effective if you use them correctly and consistently. If your partner dislikes condoms, please consider starting a hormonal method of birth control.  If you live near one of our offices, please call us for an appointment.
